As for cloning a Stage 2 .... opinions will vary dependent on what people own. I've never had an issue with clones, simply because I know where mine came from and their rarity so build it so you like it. I just prefer seeing clones that are period and spec correct. One of my favorite ROUSH cars is a clone and without the decals/serialized info ... you wouldn't know.
More advice;
Just don't do it for car shows ....as sowaxeman pointed out, your expectations will not always get met. The key, build it so it always brings a smile to your face, regardless of what pulls up next to it at the light.
