Default ALL SALEEN PJ OWNERS????

Quick question for all the other PJ owners out there........have any of you had any problems with the molded plastic piece around the shaker opening in the hood CRACKING??? Mine has a couple cracks in it I'm assuming from the heat and/or vibration of the engine with only 2500 miles on it. Just curious. I have a new piece on order so hopefully it doesn't do the same thing.

Also, mine seems to be prone to detonation (I've tried Mobil, Shell, Valero) and it still does it at higher RPM (around 5k)........I heard something about there being a TSB on the Mustang ignition coil packs, so maybe I have the bad ones......whatcha think??

Thanks in advance for any help and info!!

Stick with Chevron gas. Least amount of probs as per my tuner. Stay AWAY, FAR AWAY from Shell!

I heard the additive that's in Chevron is bad............but then again, depending on who you talk to, every gas is good AND bad!!!! All I can do is try I guess.

Thanks for the info!

My tuner was VERY specific and said that Chevron is what he recommends for all cars. I actually have a "bad gas" tune if I am unable to find Chevron when out and about.

No issues with the trim, but I only have 1300 miles. Have not noticed detonation either. Keep us informed.

Chevron gas contains techron, one of the most functional fuel additives. I'm sure it doesn't matter and you have bigger problems though.

All the fuels flow through the same lines so even if the additives are effective they would be so diluted it's really a mute point. Good luck with fixing it though

I'll be trying Chevron at my next fill up...............thanks for the info and we'll see what happens. Saleen also recommended to disconnect the battery so the computer could reset to neutral. They said that if I got ahold of some bad gas, the computer would remember this and still run like crap even after putting good gas in........I'll give it a shot with the battery disco and Chevron and see what's up! As far as the trim cracks...........not a whole lot to do about that one except just hope the new piece works out!

I never had any detonation when I ran the stock saleen tune. I checked my shaker and found no cracks. Have about 5,000mi. Hope your issues get resolved quickly!
