we can only look at this as good news ! as im sure most of us have seen the huge turn around in saleen lately some new blood can only add to the already great strives being brought to previous and future owners of our cars, hear in NY we have many gathering mustang spots and im seeing more new saleens then ever!!! and in a time when nothing is selling to hear new owners telling me they were on the fence but went to saleen because they have heard things have changed for the better is good news , i for one enjoy having the only E car in my neighborhood , most of the new owners ive spoken to feel the same way .

The writing was on the wall when Saleen had the big auction and moved everything under one roof.

It also doesn't bode well when a company experiences the kind of turnover they have shown over the past 5-6 months. Experienced, knowledgeable people don't stick around to wait for the ship to completely sink...think about it, Saleen has lost A LOT of quality people.
I think there are some people left in Saleen trying to do the right thing, and trying to up the customer service, but it may too little, too late.

I only wish the best for them, but as the article said, trying to sell a specialty car company in this economy will be next to impossible.

Is that why no one answers the phone?

Do tell, Mr. Casey.

Steve was looking for a cash infusion to keep things rolling and launch the expansion to build Ford GT program.

He relates to the mistake of giving up control of the company in the latest issue of Mustang Monthly.

Default Value of the Saleen brand

It would be nice to see Steve get the Saleen brand back. He seems to be planning on taking SMS in the same direction Saleen was heading in '06 & '07.

Saleen Automotive up for sale
Posted Nov 9th 2008 11:34AM by Dan Roth
Filed under: Aftermarket, Tuners, Etc., Saleen

just released from autoblog........SaleenForSale

Saleen is much more than just hot-rodded Mustangs and S7 supercars, and now, it's also for sale. Founder Steve Saleen departed in 2007, deciding that it might be more interesting to try and import a Chinese pickup truck for Chamco, and starting up a new performance company, SMS. Saleen's eponymous company does work for automakers; the company built the Ford GT and Dodge's Viper gets its paint and some subassembly work at Saleen, too. Saleen's board has hired an advisor to investigate what level of interest there might be from potential buyers. Recent economic developments aren't going to make it an easy sale, but Saleen would like to sell itself by early 2009.
