Default 2008 S302E - what is the "Dealer Cost"

Hi all,

I am still (long-distance) tire kicking a 2008 S302E. I had just about decided what I was going to offer on the car, when I stumbled upon this eBay auction:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...1123&viewitem=

[NOTE: I JUST CONFIRMED THIS IS A FRAUDULENT EBAY AD. Yeah, I know - duhhhh :-> ]

The dealer states he will accept $47500. How is that even possible? Is he just ditching the car at a loss, or is there an even bigger mark-up on Saleens than I thought? With the Vista-roof, this car has to MSRP at around $84k, right? Does anyone know (I mean actually know to the dollar, not just a guess) what the dealer cost is on an S302E?

Wrong color for me, but if that really is the current market, then I am definitely going to adjust my offer on the one I am interested in...

Chris.

I find that price hard to believe. When I bought my PJ that dealer was not in the ballpark of what others were willing to sell one for. Strange they would be dumping a 2008E for that price.

I think the feedback rating of "1" says it all.

If you're really interested in the car...contact the dealership directly and talk to them. There's no way this is legit.

You wouldnt buy a car if you knew what the actual dealer cost really was.

Yeah, of course its a big-fat fraud. I know, "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is" - yet this market is just so crazy, you never know when a stonking bargain might come up...

Still, my original question still stands - anyone know the exact dealer cost for one of these cars?

Thanks,
Chris.

Well I can't tell you price, but what's the difference between the base Mustang, low end Saleen and the Extreme, and what's the price difference? Seems like it would be fairly simple to do the math.

I'm not saying it's idiot easy, but it wouldn't be that hard to give you a general idea would it?
