Exact weights seem to be pretty hard to come by, but they're around 40 pounds per wheel.

If I remember correctly the front wheels were 37lbs while the rear wheels were 42lbs. Thats rim and tire. Basically they are VERY heavy. Hence why they came with the forged 5-spoke design. The 7-spoke were cast wheels.

how much do you think the tires weigh? Do you think I would be safe saying they are 40lbs and 35lbs?

Some websites, like the tirerack will actually give you the weight of specific lines/sizes of tires. I remember seeing the Michelin PS2 tires weigh a substantially less (several pounds) than many other tires that folks regularly put on Saleens/Mustangs.

So you can save weight with certain wheels AND tires.

Tirerack says the rear tires are 35lbs and fronts are 31lbs. That cant be right, is that with the rim?

scroll down to 275/35/20 and 275/40/20

No way that includes the tire. The stock Pirelli tire that comes on a Mustang GT weighs 27lbs by itself.

damn so mayne 31 and 35lbs is correct for just the tire. That means each wheel and tire is like 70lbs?

Compare those front Pirelli tires (31 lbs) to the front PS2 tires (27 lbs).

The Tire Rack doesn't list the rear 275/40/20 size in the PS2, but even the heavier 275/45/20 PS2 is a significant 6 lbs lighter than the Pirelli 275/40/20 rear tire.

You'll obviously save more weight with forged wheels vs. the cast 7-spoke wheels, but don't forget you can save some weight when deciding which tires you buy!
