Default 2003 Roush Stage 3 Value and Advice

Hello,

I have been looking around for something to replace my Cobra that was totaled in an accident recently. I didn't plan on buying something for at least a few months so I don't have to worry about storage over the winter but I found something that I like:
http://www.parkplacecarmel.com/detai...&numrecords=10

Anyone have any comments on how much this is worth? Its kind of high mileage for me but looks pretty clean. Carfax indicates it had been in Florida until just now. I just don't really know what Roush Mustangs are worth. A solid Terminator with the same year and mileage would probably be listed a lot higher.

S3 price range is a hot topic right now. Prices have been coming down due to owners trying to sell. That price is about on par with what they sell for.

I believe I was there when this particular car was signed by Jack (Daytona Feb 2011). The owner had just finished the T56 swap. It was very well cared for and an excellent example of ann S3 with all the options.

Wow! Cool if that is the same one! Do you have any other pictures or did you know the owner? They seemed to have put 30k miles on it in a year or so before this summer which is a bit concerning.

That is something weird I have noticed, did they come with 5 speed transmissions rather than the 6 speeds the Cobras had?

Are there any general problems with Roush Stangs or any other reason their price is dropping and seems below Terminators? All I know about Roush Stangs is what research I have done in the past couple days. I really like this one except that it is a bit high mileage for a supercharged car of my liking.

I think that's the only pic I have of it.
They came with 5 speeds. There was a single T56 Stage 3 made in 2001 - and the original owner still has it. This one was swapped literally just before I saw it in Feb by the owner. He made 389hp/425ft tq. Check out FNSweet.com. His screen name is "Stg3" over there.

The only thing I can say is people used to be worried about the 14" rotors. Alcon stopped making them. Stage 3 Motorsports came to the rescue and worked with Baer to make a two pc replacement. There is also a way to use the new GT500 rotors, so at least there are options now if you wear down the front rotors.

Here's the link to making the GT500 rotors work: http://www.titaniummotorsports.com/i.../20110419.html

He is from Port Richey which matches the Carfax so it looks like the same car. I will see what else I can find about it on that forum. Thanks for the info!

Edit: and its the same serial number!

Glad to help. Info on early Roush stuff is hard to find sometimes... so those that know are happy to share, just to keep the facts straight on them.

I was able to contact the previous owner on the FnSweet forums and found out he had blown a plug. I was worried about the high mileage and then even more worried once I saw he had a 10 lbs of boost pulley. I would have loved to have this car but thats a deal breaker for me. I think I will still go take it for a test drive though

Lots of guys run the 10 lb pulley on the Stage 3 cars.... having a plug blow out might open my eyes, but not scare me if it's fixed right.

If you are set on an S3, keep an eye on FNSweet. You'll be able to find the right one for you.

I wasn't even looking for a Roush actually but came across this one and rather like them now. I would be interested in finding another stage 3 convertible similar to this one.

I will be using it for a daily driver in warm weather so am a little more conservative with boost.

Well, happy hunting. I'll keep an eye out.
This thread might help you when it comes time to put a realistic price on one if you find it.
