Traction Problems
It was interesting to see in the Motor Trend writeup that the GT 500 0-60 times were very little better than the GT times because of lack of traction. Ford has changed the differential from 3.55 to 3.31 to try to get more power to the pavement with a straight rear axle. I figured that one out in '08 with my 4.6L! It takes better than stock tires to get even 460 HP to the pavement... so 650 HP could be a sideways ride most of the time!
It will be fun (for adults) in very short bursts passing cars on the highway, or out were it's safe to go WOT... but it will be very scary in the hands of those ever growing masses of immature types, that are 35 going on 12, who care about nothing... but their next giggle! A great car to buy your spoiled rotten, bum, lazy, trouble making, stepson you want to get rid of! It's like buying an alcoholic a liquor store!
.... and.... No... I don't have a stepson.... just kidding! LOL!

Let's hope with the taller first gear and the taller rear gears, as well as the taller rear tire, and the little taller sidewall for a 20"tire, and a real launch control, that the 650 HP will be feathered properly by the computer and finally get the GT500 with real launch grip.
Sadly, as has been posted in other threads, neither the new Boss 302 Laguna Seca as well as previous GT500's, nor the upcoming 2013 GT500 has been listed in the 7-8 minute Nurburgring lap time listings. Where as the new ZL1 has a lap time just .6 seconds or 6/10ths of a second behind the Ford GT. No listings for any powerful recent Fords. Not good...... Erik
