new to forums and somewhat new to mustangs
I have an 89 GT hatch I love my car its pretty much bone stock I got it from an older lady her in Vegas, She has had it for about 20 sum years... Any way when I bought the car I started out looking for a fox body saleen but could not find one ( well that I could aford anyway) so I jumped on this one at $2k and looking bran new inside and out I thought it wont get any better. But now I feel as if I should have waited for the saleen
So my question is how much work is it to and is it worth building a clone saleen out of my GT? I dont really need the authenticity as much as I just love the way they look and from what I hear the proformance they have...
Your thoughts and opinions greatly appreciated.
P.S. if building a clone is a big NO NO let me know I really dont want to be shunned by the mustang world

As far as the foxbodies go the Saleens offered next to no performance increases over the regular GTs. At that time period Saleens were just a dressed up Mustang GT nothing more. Only the super race SC models came with a Vortech supercharger. Your standard Saleens were a GT body with saleen suspension components, interior dress ups, and body kit.
So bascially you just need the Saleen body kit and beef up the suspension. Good luck finding authentic foxbody Saleen seats though.
