1999-2004 Stock Air Intake for Saleen S281 SC
Hi Everyone!
Just picked up a 2004 Saleen Mustang Coupe S281 Supercharged and of course it's missing some of the stock parts. It currently has a no named cold air intake on it but really would like to get it back to stock for right now. What parts should I buy? Should I buy the stock Mustang airbox? Not sure about the MAF and inlet tube connecting pieces. Do I need to get it tuned after? Picture below is from a stock Saleen Mustang I'm using for reference. Stock intakes on eBay...
Saleen Mustang, that should have a Saleen intake, which is not stock (Ford) anyway... That picture, the MAF is the larger bore for more performance, and looks to me there is a sensor in it. Saleen would also be tuned for the Saleen intake. IF the car runs, leave it alone. |
Not sure how to ask a question so here t is . SO FAr on my 2003 Mustang gt I have done a bbk CAI BBK78mm throttle body Pypes m80 catback to a Bassani O/R x pipe . I’ve noticed great change in power with the CAI but I want tips on how to increase the power even more . Also how much hp do you think I am pushing now and how much do you think I can gain from a tune... PLS HELP |
You're probably pushing 270+ Hp now. You may hit 295 with a 93 Octane tune....

Anyone else able to help out with which parts I should get to get my Saleen air intake back to stock? Does some one have a stock intake for sale? |
DO you want a STOCK intake, Saleen Intake for that Saleen Car, or what?
You keep asking for a STOCK intake, and they're all over eBay.... IF you go to FORD stock, you will hurt performance on the car, and it won't fit. You just have an aftermarket hose from the throttle body to the MAF tube... That has to be shorter due to the Supercharger. A STOCK intake, the tube from the TB to the MAF will be too long, and you can't cut those down to size. The filter housing is basically the same, from stock, to Cobra, to Saleen. There is nothing wrong with what you currently have. All you need is the Saleen for SuperCharger hose from the TB to the MAF tube, nothing else needs replaced unless you want to reduce horsepower. |
