For that kind of money you can buy OEM, (MotorCraft) which by the way is better than any thing you can buy, Accel, MSD, and yes mounts do go bad especially when you are talking about a 15 to 20 year...

i'm not sure that would be a solution, all the settings on a speedcalc are based on rear end...

If not, not sure what you can do the 96 -98 has a two wire...
