Those are good boxes but I reckon this dude is getting up there in age the FR manual steer gearbox needs to be bossed around in tight spaces and parking lot or high speed turns. not too big of a deal...

oh yeah you said it went to **** when you changed PV....that's because you didn't get the accel pump cam arm install back proper and now you have no accel pump shot...that would make it run like crap...

the volt meter can just sit on the passenger seat or console until you work this out...it doesnt have to be fancy...run 2 wires from the meter to the post on the battery. Keep it simple for now.

I've got mine dialed in very well and im happy with it I liked learning about them and watching how that carb reacted to changes I made.


Holley owns QFT and the parts are interchangeable (90%)...

I cant suggest getting it tuned. I went that route when I was new to the Holley and quickly discovered I cant be married to a shop to do my carb work the only thing they were good for was motivation...

keep your new cooler but put on a new coolant pump that is original style for the 1966 with the v8 289.


you can then find hoses (which maybe a bit of a trick) that will fit the cross flow cooler...
