The computer and wiring are fine. The pump might be fine, except the ethanol in the fuel destroyed every piece of rubber in or on the tank, including the shrink wrap on the fuel pump...

I shorted the EEC IV fuel pump bypass, which should have forced the pump to run. My question now is simple:

Is it the pump or did I buy a bad PCM?

1993 LX 2.3L fuel pump voltage is low

I hate to start a new thread, but searching posts produced nothing.

The car has run fine and then suddenly it will not start. The fuel pump has about 100 hours maybe, so that doesn't seem likely....

I had a similar issue with BBK aluminum pulleys...

I had a similar issue with BBK aluminum pulleys on my '04. It was a balance issue that caused a vibration about 2700 rpm and tripped the code. Can't say it's the same with yours, though.

Loud exhaust and P0171 would make me think the 02 sensor is the culprit. Also, check the exhaust in general to see if there is a leak, specifically before the O2 sensor.

I installed a dual friction in mine over a year ago and it is wonderful. You get 90% more clamping force with stock pedal feel. You do NOT need an aftermarket fork (or anything else for that matter)....
