Good post :) Just curious... Did you list them in your recommended order or are they just numbered in the list?

:icon_ditto: Get the GT you want, put some 4.10's in it, CAI, full exhaust, & tune it and tell me the GT500 is worth the difference.

I was going to say, precision installs like gears should be left to the professionals. Gear whine is the least of your worries if it is not done correctly and w/in tolerances.

There are a ton of...

RE: stang vs. nissan gtr?

IMHO, it's in a similar boat to the GT500...pretty fantastic car, but could have been F'ing amazing if they'd kept the weight down. Ford and Nissan HAD to give them both copious amounts of power to...

RE: stang vs. nissan gtr?

Lots of suspension mods, better than OEM tires, weight reduction, and a good single or twin turbo setup would probably compete....maybe not win, but compete.

I mean...in reality it's more than...

RE: Shops near Dallas?

x3 for HPP or Gearheads. both have great reputations and do great work.

RE: 347 Kit vs 347 Block

What are your plans for the car and for power? A seasoned block will be more reliable (and preferable by engine builders) since it's already been thru so many heat cycles.

The big question is...

RE: i want to go catless

Get a set of hi flow cats. I got a Magnaflow off Ebay for my beater...$55 shipped, IIRC. I have the Prochamber w/o cats on the stang and like the smell, but it's not that much different w/ the stock...

RE: How to make a Fox body handle?

Kazer, I don't know what your budget is, but if you make the ole bird handle, you'd be surprised what it will do to those imports (if you built up the motor).

GT40 heads were on 93-95 Cobras and...

RE: FUEL INJECTORS??

What they said...You may want to consider 24's if you go stroker and/or better heads/cam, but you're fine until then. Definitely upgrade your fuel pump when you do the injectors (or before)

RE: top end kit from LMR

What kind of budget are you on? Piece the kit together yourself and get a custom cam for the best performance. Some of the parts can be purchased used to save some cash, but make sure you know what...

RE: price check.

That price isn't bad at all. I sold my GT40 lower and Explorer upper seperately on ebay for 260 shipped in factory form. Honestly the tubular GT40 may look better, but there isn't much difference in...

RE: URGENT Suspension question

It depends...what are your plans for the car? If it's a strip car, then the Strange adjustables would benefit you more. If it's a street setup, I'd save $120 and go with the Tokico's and get better...

RE: Intake-throttle body questions

I bought mine from JD's performance (the link a few posts up). If you call them and speak w/ Dave, you can probably get a better price than what is listed online.

RE: exhaust

The Powerflo will be the most restrictive of the SLP exhausts. Like you said, it's only a few horses and you probably won't notice much difference. LM1's will flow the most, but are hella loud. LM2's...

I agree w/ Tinman; you should definitely go do a little research so that you know what you're looking for and dealing with.

RE: 3g alternator install probs

Check your grounds first.

Not knocking your install, but I know several people on this site and others that have used the walkthough w/o any issues. Like mentioned above....check for loose...

RE: URGENT Suspension question

KYB's aren't bad, but for the money I'd get Tokico HP's all day long before I'd go that route. Brenspeed (site sponsor) sells the full set for $266 shipped or you can sometimes find them new on ebay...

RE: Intake-throttle body questions

The opening diameter has nothing to do w/ what size TB you should run. Just b/c my intake is 70 or 75mm, doesn't mean I should run that size TB. If you have done an H/C/I swap, 70 should be okay. If...

RE: Witch Headers to buy???

The Mac's will probably go on okay the first time, but if you ever have to remove them for any reason, they will be a major PITA to get back on.The primaries warp under heat since they don't have the...

RE: IRS from 03 cobra into a fox???

How would you not gain much from it?? The IRS is much better for corner carving than the solid axle setup, unless you've already purchased all the parts to make the 4-link [stock setup: U/L control...

RE: Witch Headers to buy???

LT's..... I went w/ shorties b/c they were cheaper and wish I'd just nutted up in the first place. LT's will have better power thru-out the rpm range. They will be a little quieter on the exhaust...

RE: gt40 head, valve spring question

Call a machine shop (one that is worth their weight) and see if they can be machined to accept dual springs.
