Post 8.8 rear Axle

Ok I am planning on swapping out the 7.5 rear for the Mustang 8.8" Rear AxleAssembly 2005-2008 3.73:1Ratio w/ABS w/Trac-LocPinion Flange For Mustang V6 that you can get from newtakeoffs.com. I was woundering if this will match up perfect when the 7.5 drops out. Is there any mods that have to be done or does it just bolt straight on. Also has anyone ordered this from newtakeoffs.com. If How did you have if shiped to you. I cant get it shiped to my house for some reason.

The rear end will only ship via freight, therefore has to be shipped to a business or if you live out in the country they might come to your house. It will bolt right in although you will have to swap the rotors and all that.

I have been considering that myself, but my major hold up is the fact that I would proably pay 200 dollars for shipping.

I ordered the 8.8 w/3.55s from newtakeoff.com and they shipped it right to my front door for $165.00. I did order it on the phone so maybe you should give them a call and ask. YES, it is a straight swap and everything bolts right up. Only problem I had was turning the brake caliper pistons back in(the piston must be turned & pushed at the same time)to get them back over the rotors. Got a tool at the local auto parts for about $15.00 and no more problem. If you do it yourself have some friends available as the axles are heavy. You don't need a lift just some jack stands and a floor jack. I also had an air wrench which helped alot.

On freight, if the carrier says they will not deliver it to your home, you can always specifiy pickup at their local terminal. Just be sure you bring a truck and a buddy to help you load it.

It is a straight up bolt in IF you get the 8.8 WITH the V6
driveshaft pinion flange one they offer. Otherwise you
have to swap your V6 flange for the GT flange thats on
a 8.8 rear end from the factory.
And thats no fun.
