I have to say the ugliest thing about our cars from the factory is the horrible 4 x 4 looking fender gap they have. I mean DAMN that's a huge gap. I had to lower mine before I even put wheels on it!!!!

 

Ugliest item to me.......chrome pony, GT emblems and fake gas cap. Two out of three have been painted black already. Gas cap gets down today.

That's a nice looking cap. Too bad they don't put the gas caps in the center of the rear any more. I don't know why the heck they stopped doing that (probably some stupid so called safety law) but I found it very convenient. In my 79 Camaro it was in the rear center and I could pull into any gas station in any direction and not care. It was always easily accessible. Now you have to be sure you're on the correct side. At least all my vehicles have it on the driver's side. The current Camaro has it stupidly on the passenger's side. DOH!!!

 

Against the law now...
The Government passed it in the 80s if I remember.
They say it wasn't safe in rear end collisions. Lol, cars didn't catch on fire back then because of that.
