[QUOTE=Mr. D;8535896]I picked up my 2016 GT with the Roush Supercharger installed & I'm very, very surprised in how it performs! The '08 GT I put a supercharger on was nothing like this at all! First, you can't hear the supercharger on the '16 while the '08 whined loudly when it wound up. Roush supplies all parts you'd find on a GT 500 or Shelby so that you have a quality product that will retain its value. I expect to get back all the costs of the supercharger, etc. when I sell the car as I did when I sold my '08 GT. The power is so incredibly smooth it performs like I would expect a $120K Mercedes Benz AMG GT to perform. It is incredibly smooth & refined in putting down the power. The only difference after the supercharger is that everything moves by much, much, much faster. Yikes! My GT is an automatic & it feels about the same off the line until about 20 MPH & then the extra HP smoothly cuts in. You don't know the power is there at all... until you put your foot in it... & then watch your closing distances disappear like you are in a fighter jet!! The only thing frightening is how fast spaces between distant cars evaporate! I did just one 1/4 Mile run using the track apps & in the standard driving mode. It isn't even broken in yet, but I could resist! Frankly I think I let off the throttle before the 1/4 mile was up... because honestly it scared me a little! I was on a less than perfect desert road & it was pulling so strong when I let up it made me a more than a little nervous. Track apps showed 12.5 at 120 MPH with one run. That was "Funny Car Drag Strip speeds" when I was a kid! On the way to the Roush Tech it ran 13.8 in 109 MPH. That may not seem like a big change, but it is when you are behind the wheel. Rolling acceleration is were it is incredible! From 30 to "I get scared" it is amazingly fast & that's where I want the acceleration & power. I don't know if Roush modified the automatics shifting pattern in the tune, but it is as smooth as a luxury car. Down shifting seems no more harsh than before. When I got home with the car it just about dark so I didn't have much driving time. I think it will be amazing in sport mode because it will keep the rpm up more than in standard driving mode which is needed for the power band. Burn outs aren't my thing! Roush has done an amazing job at matching the 5.0L engine with the automatic transmission. It doesn't feel like an after market "hot rodded" Muscle Car. It feels like a high dollar, "high HP" AMG Mercedes or BMW GT. It's smooth, refined & very, very fast! It looks like the mileage is going to be amazing too! I wound up with a hell of a lot of car for only $45K!

I'll shoot some new pictures as I added a Roush windshield banner & put the Ford Racing Logo below the 5.0L Badge to show off! Yes, I admit I want to look cool at the local cruise nights with my "cheapy" American Super Car! If you are in SoCal I'll give you a recommendation where to get a Roush supercharger installed!

(P.S., the horrible stop & go traffic trying to get home at 5:30 PM after picking it up made me very happy I bought an automatic!)

There is quite a bit more to a GT500 than just a supercharger and the parts that Roush Supplies(not demeaning it). It has a 5.8 motor, totally different suspension, carbon fiber driveshaft, better exhaust, completely different interior with tuck &rolled leather, really wide 20" rear and 19" frt tires and much more.
I do like your car.Have fun!

Yes, I'm completely aware of the differences between a standard GT with a Roush Supercharger & a GT 500. I never suggest that a my car is like a GT 500 or a Roush Stage 3 Mustang. It's just a different choice. I just made my choice based on three things: (1.) I didn't want most of the differences found on the GT 500. such the differences in suspension. (2.) I wanted an automatic this time around, & (3.) Obviously the price difference. In my area you are doing very well just to buy a GT 500 for full MSRP. So there is a major price difference. As far as the comparing it to Roush stage 3, I simply like the stock Mustang body styling better than the Roush, along with the obvious of not wanting to put another $30K into the car. I liked my standard shift hot rods through the years, but with the auto transmissions in the new Mustangs & being a 74 year old relic, I like having not having to shift when I get stuck in heavy traffic. Everything is a trade off! We should all get what makes use smile!

I agree about the auto trans. My GT is better, faster and more fun to drive than a manual. With the auto you don't have to worry about breaking things or wearing out clutches. My GT500 would also be better with a high quality modern auto.

Default My GT is a toy car!

I think my Mustang is a toy car to me! Why?

I just got a card from my Ford Dealer saying my Mustang should be about ready for a 7500 mile service. I just turned 1000 miles yesterday going to a Cruise Night! The Classic Car guys really liked my Mustang! I put a little sign on the windshield that said, "Common Guy's Super Car - It will be a Classic in 40 years, but I don't have time to wait!" I put the hood up & it got as much attention as any car there! After all... Classic Cars start out new! Very soon electric cars will take over & we'll miss the "combustion engine cars" with all their ancient qualities! I've loved & built old classics, but I'd rather drive a new Mustang!

Had some dead time this afternoon so I put on my "ROUSHCHARGED" badging on the hood. It takes a little measuring & planning to get these things on straight when you are 74 with Tri-focal glasses! First, I had to find the Mustang..... then....! Don't tell the guys in that other section or they'll get mad thinking I'm trying to make my own Roush... my own way.... on the cheap.... & they'd be right! I've got a Roush Supercharger on my Mustang.... so it must be "Roushcharged"! Right? LOL!

I'll look for you at the next Cruise Night.... if the weather permits! Too windy this Thursday! I bet everyone would like to steal parts off your GT 350. It's too much car for me! I do need your front tires for the rear of my car! See ya around the Apple Trees!

Did you go to Willow Springs? But... but... but I'd have to buy new rims & tires & couldn't rotate them.... which with as little miles I put on my car it wouldn't matter.... I guess! They would look cool!

Yes, I went with the LA Cobra Club. It ran better than I expected. So did our 24 Hours of Lemons Mustang.
