Default Automatic Transmission Band Adjustment?

Has anyone done this? If so, when should it be done?

Does this exist on our transmissions?

120 in-lbs is 10 ft-lbs.

First I've heard of on the newer Mustangs. I remember a long time ago my Dad had to have the bands adjusted on his Pinto

I use to do them back in the 60's and 70's. As long as you follow the procedure you could do it anytime.

I had also thought those days were over, when just about everyone switched
to brakes instead of bands. If the car has this 5R55 in it, then it has the
OD/Intermediate band, and Low/Reverse bands:

Both 25s are the same part# 7D034, for the OD and INTERMEDIATE brake band, and are the only two that
are adjustable.

85 is low/reverse band assembly.

SO, it has three bands.

Part 7 on the diagram shows a torque converter drain plug, and the bell housing with a drain
plug access rubber plug, but only for the 3.9L?

My '04 Explorer with 4.0L SOHC has 5R55S, no access plug, no converter drain plug, even though Ford Shop Manual indicates to use the "if so equipped".
