I have noticed used car dealerships are purchasing these convertibles with the support braces rusted through needing replacement before they can sa
fely resell them to the public. This shows how rusted the bars get. The body was supporting the bars. Mine were so rusted through they bent under the parts own weight after removal.
Finished bolt on replacement part uses original equipment. Direct replacement part. 4 -15mm bolts torque 98 ft lbs. 2 13mm bolts torque 46ft lbs.
Ford has made obsolete the long body bolt needed in swap. these are pictures of original ford bolt along with replacement bolt. both are 8.8 grade bolts ,collar on brace only allows bolt to tighten to proper length and torque 46ft lbs. extra threads no issue. complete bolt sets available $30 free shipping with braces. all other bolts in set are Ford oem factory bolts.

There is a approx. 1" round bar that goes cross-wise near the bell housing, flattened on both ends, 2 bolts on each end, about 20" long, underneath car.

These braces have been very popular lately in the beautiful state of Ohio. Have sent several sets to the center of the state, all extreme rust issues.
