Default 64.5 260 problem

Guys and Gals, looking for some input on a issue with my 260. The car will start but when it is put in gear it run but will not accelerate. It has a rebuilt carb, new plugs, wire etc. The heads have been off and totally rebuilt valves replaced etc. New fuel tank, fuel filter.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Well, most likely it's an ignition problem. Even if the accelerator pump in the carb was inoperative, you could accelerate, just not real hard. Check dwell, condenser, and coil.

Also check the diaphram on the vacuum advance. If the diphram is ruptured it will cause that problem.

I had a condenser act like that on a SOB (Some Other Brand) car back in the 70's. Did you ever figure it out, since this was over ten years ago?
