Hey guys I know there is already a how-to tutorial for this but I thought I would make a more indepth one with a lot of pictures. As usual… I am not responsible for any harm or injury done to you or the car…

First you are going to want to disconnect the battery (of course).

Then you are going to want to take your intake off

Then you unscrew the 4 screws that hold your throttle body to the intake manifold…

Then disconnect the plug on both right and left side of the throttle body


Then remove your throttle body, you will see 2 black hoses run into it… This is what we are bypassing, they are both held on with hose clamps. Carefully you will want to remove both of these, watchout there is coolant in those lines…


It should now look like this once the coolant lines are disconnected from the throttle body.

Then on the opposite end of the hoses you will see where both coolant lines run to, we are going to remove the shorter hose which is held on by a hose clamp

Then with the short one removed, were gonna want to take the big one and cut it just long enough so that it will reach the fitting we just removed the short hose from.


It should look like this when you are done:

With the remainder of the short hose we are going to use a piece to cap both fittings left open from removing the cooling lines from the throttle body, cut a piece long enough to cover both fittings.

After that put the throttle body back on, put the 4 screws back in, and plug both connectors in on left and right, install your intake, reconnect battery and test for leaks!

Well here let me link you to the temperature drops V6 John had... I would think cooler air since the throttle body wont be 190 degrees! I noticed when you first start driving the car is really responsive then you know it loses its response... Well I noticed by bypassing this it feels just like it does when you first start at, all the time.

THIS IS A FANTASTIC **** FREE *** MOD FOR A 2005 4.0L !!!!

First, reverse steps 2 and 3...remove the connectors first, then the TB bolts, lol!

You can also achieve the same results just by rerouting the 2 small heater hoses to the TB, and leaving the hoses dangling; not very pretty, though, lol.

This only applies to 2005 V6's with the heated throttle body (hot water running through it).
Was one of the first mods I made to the car.
