Vortech V3 - 2005 Crown Victoria 4.6L
Hey guys, not sure if Im posting in the right section or forums but thought I would try, and appreciate any replies or help in advance.
Ive got a 2005 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor with a vortex V3 and and intercooler/tubing. Im using this kit, http://adtr.net/product/ford-crown-v...2003-panthers/ however my tubing, MAF, AIR Filter are a little different, in an attempt to be california smog legal, and just bypassing into the system with a basic plastic vortech black bypass valve.
Im getting all kinds of backwash (MAF AD Counts spiking like crazy, car bogging/studdering, misfiring) with part throttle in most situations. We’ve kind of hit a wall in debugging so Im reaching out for help.
Im thinking of running 2 bypass valves, I read some mustangs had to do this, and vortech recommend that some 2004 GT mustangs needed two bypass valves..
This crappy image I mocked up is what I think two bypass valves would look like. Currently I have the LEFT bypass valve installed that you see in the mock up image. I have the hole plugged on the pipe to the throttle body as a temporary solution (as I only have 1 bung hole in the intake pipe). Ive moved the Bypass valve between the tubes to see if there was any difference.

I would need to have another 1 inch bung hole welded on to the intake and order another black plastic bypass valve.
The MAF is directly left of the airbox/filter.
