Default big HP small cubes

I'm about to undergo a fox project for road racing my class has a Max of 302 cubes no power adder's Ford's Nascar engines are 358 ci and 800+ hp I'm not expecting anything that crazy I'm shooting for 450 rwhp is this an attainable goal? My buddies work at a machine shop and I do mechanic stuff for a living not afraid to get my hands dirty or cheat a little bit other than no power adder's it's open *in short what would need to happen to get 450 rwhp outa 302 ci high revs good heads etc ik any off the shelf parts or is this a nightmare?

Well...you could always set it up for nitro methane. That way when they challenge you after win, you will already have your engine tore down. If it makes it, it will probably need it by then anyways.

Otherwise, I don't know how you would get their without putting a lot of cash in an engine. A stock block with 302 displacement probably isn't going to run very long being reved to the moon. Then again, it may last you all season.

I have seen 302s run in the 6's

If you stroke it to 363ci you can get 500hp out of it easily like the Ford Racing crate engines. Go on line and look at their parts lists and create the same thing.

This one made a little over 500 at the crank. Looks like they turned it to 7800 too.

450 at the wheels is going to be tough. Especially for a road race engine where you'll see prolonged WOT runs in the upper RPM range. A 302 will do it, but for how long ??? I'd maybe drop your goals to 350-375 at the wheels and work on car setup. That type of motor will go a whole season then.
