Smile Used Oil Analysis Results Posted!

After many years of owning my S197 4.6 3V, I finally got a UOA done by Blackstone Labs. I am very impressed with the results and so were the people over at blackstone who conducted the analysis. Oil used was Supertech conventional 5w-20 and no additional additives were used in the crankcase such as seafoam or lucas oil stabilizer. It was changed at approximately 4,000-4,100 miles. Car was ran moderately hard during the ~4,000 mile oil interval. Let me know what you guys think!

and not as a oil expert, I wouldn't say its really higher than average. Looks to be within 10% or so. Since all oils are not created the same and most analysis are more statistical than actual, the report really should have reported a range rather than an exact number.

Funny, he listed the car as SOHC (which is correct) but they say the GT comes with the 24V engine (which is also correct) yet somehow they "put those averages in for it"?

Guess they don't know the 3V is SOHC. I don't think that skewed the results though. You got a healthy engine there.
