Default 87 Mustang ECM

I am working on building an 87 E7 HO motor. (Not Cali standard) The ecu I need is the 78-4484, but it doesn't seem to be available anywhere. The car it will be going into is an automatic with SD. I am not looking to convert it to maf or a manual. So, my questions are would I be able to use the 86 ECM 78-4397? Or the 87 78-4503 (with Cali)?

I have cross checked the 78-4503 and it is also used on the 88 model (maf). So I'm not sure of the 87 Cali ecm would maf also?

We've learned there is an extreme shortage of PCM cores, especially EEC-IVs. Because of that, the rebuilders/ sellers of PCMs are very short of inventory.

If you can find one, I'd try an F-150 PCM w/speed density, maybe an '89 or so, check your injectors, match their capacity to the truck's injectors (they did not use 19 Lbs, rather 15 or 16, or something). Switch the plug wires around to suit the truck firing order (different from HIO), and you're in business! imp

I will definitely keep it in mind if it is the only thing I can do. Thanks
