Default Getting 3.73 gears!!

So, I知 waiting for delivery of my ford performance 3.73 gear kit from AM! Now I知 wondering if I should do limited slip differential! Now I知 not a young gun anymore, so no racing, just like a little pep in this little v6. Will it give me a more noticeable take off? Or should I just leave it be? One other question, if I do the diff. Will the track control still work? What say you experts???
Thanks in advance!

I would definitely do a LS diff since you are going to the trouble of changing gears. I'm guessing the traction control will still work.

That’s where I get confused!! So, with the trac control on, I wouldn’t get power to both tires? Or they just won’t spin? And with trac control off, I can spin the tires? I know it’s dumb question, but I’m just trying to understand this trac control stuff. Btw, it a 2012 premium package auto!

You have a 2012 Mustang so you already have a limited slip differential and the 8.8" rear end. All you need to do ischange the ring and pinion and installing them on your existing T-lok differential. It won't change your ABS or traction control.

Only the 2005-10 V6 had the open diff 7.5" rear end.

Traction control applies breaking to the slipping wheel, with throttle control.
Turning it off doesn't effect the power divide between the wheels, it reduces
or eliminates spin when it is on. When it is off, it still will apply braking to
if you launch and have spinning wheels. You would need to disable the
system to be able to spin tire.

As said, you have what you need, just change the ring and pinion gears.

You will see a HUGE difference from 2.73 to 3.73... I had a Charger with a 2.87 RII, so I
got a 3.64 RII on eBay for $50.00 + $50.00 shipping, and it was a huge improvement. Only
lost maybe, 2MPG total. Not sure I wanna mess with my Mustang just yet... On top of
that, I sold my 2.86 for $120 shipped, so I even made 20 bucks...

I went from the factory option 3.31 gears to 3.73 and felt a big difference, in a good way . You'll poop your pants going from 2.73 to 3.73. The kit your buying has everything you'll need, 'but' I don't understand why 'all' the kits come with 2 quarts of gear lube. From what I've read, you are to fill the lube until it runs out of the fill hole on our v6 Mustangs. I've changed my lube 4 times and each time I have had to add 2 1/3 quarts of lube before it runs out of the fill hole. Just pointing that out for you
