Default Rear shock installation

Do I have to remove the fold down back seat on my 70 mach to get to the top bolt of the rear shocks?
It appears that the top of the shock is not accessible from the trunk

There should be access plugs on top of the hump in the trunk. Way back in there.

You'll probably want to put a pair of vice grips on the shock under the wheel well, as you are tuning that top nut, it'll prevent the shock from spinning and the nut from never coming loose.
