Headlights for the night-vision-challenged
hi all,
first time posting- hoping to purchased my first (adult) mustang (it’s been a good 30 years since the family had one).
i was wondering if anyone could give me info on how effective the new 2018-19 models’ headlamps are for nighttime driving. I have night vision difficulties, and most modern cars are ok, but a few car models have been a nightmare at night when renting cars. Unfortunately my dealer is closed by darkness, so a nighttime test drive would be challenging. I was wondering what your opinions are on how they measure up to the lights on most cars or SUVs, or if aftermarket options exist that provide a noticeable improvement.
any thoughts (outside of ‘go try test drive one’) would be appreciated.

Im happy with mine, they seem better than my old CTS-V lights , but those were tinted by the prior owner..
They seem to light up signs very well. One thing I noticed from when I had a truck though was the higher the headlights are, the better they seem to actually light up the ground since they are more angled downward. My f150 with LED bulbs in halogen housings, with rigid DOT Dually fog lights was an amazing lighting setup.
For a stock car I think the 2018's LED are very good as far as I can tell. My moms acura MDX has pretty amazing headlights

I have an '08, and they are not effective. You only have up and down adjustments, no
side to side, and they tend to focus more towards the center of the road. So, I bought a
GT Grille with fogs, slapped 75 Watt HIDs in those and tied them into the hi-beams, and
voila, I can see everything.
