2001 aftermarket headlights
Who make a good pair of aftermarket headlight? I have seen some that the fit is horrendous. Also did a 2001 gt come with black or chrome backing. Not looking for anything custom just want a good pair of aftermarket OEM looking headlights.

I've had good luck with a manufacturer called SPPC, found them on Amazon. Bought sets for a few different vehicles, my Mustang included. Fitment on the Mustang is a solid 9.6/10 (and yeah, there are some out there with horrendous fitment) I have what are essentially stock style housings with clear reflectors.
'01+ had black housings, 99/00 used the chrome housings.

Whatever you go with I highly recommend a clear flowable silicon sealer like Permatex Windhield and glass seal be used all the way around the seam where the lens and housing meet. I've found most aftermarket lamp manufacturers don't do a good enough job of sealing that joint and so you end up with fog inside the lamp the first time you encounter water.

I have had nothing but problems with "cheap" aftermarket lights for my VW,
the whatever-moto, $140 cheap *** aftermarket, even though they say they are
OE, DOT and SAE, total crap...
The 1 degree off setting up for the hi-beam side was way more then 1 degree.
I have always had to adjust the low up to just below the hi-beam spot. One
set would not adjust at all, and now my hi-beams shoot up into the trees, but
at least with HIDs I get light all over the place.
