Bug Deflector faded paint on hood
I recently bought a 2006 mustang that came with a smoked bug deflector. I'm guessing it's been on there for awhile because the paint underneath has been faded from the screaming yellow to a burnt orange. Is there anyway to maybe buff it out or would I have to try and touch up the hood with paint?

He probably meant that with the bug reflector off, he now has a ghost stripe across the hood. Meaning the paint on his hood has faded when compared to the area where the bug reflector was. Very common problem with doors that have the door guard on them.

while the rest of the car is yellow...

I have always had the opposite happen, as you said. Unless he didn't clean under it and
water and dirt faded the paint. Mine always came with little bump stops, so the plastic
never comes in contact with the hood. I have seen the front "bras" fade the paint, but
not a bug deflector, unless, he actually has a BRA, and not a plastic bug deflector.
However, he said smoked bug deflector, no pictures as usual... SO, the only thing I can
think of, the plastic amplified the sun's UV rays and faded the paint. That would mean it
was a crap part...
