Motor Swap issue 3.8/4.2 CMP/CKP code
I did the 4.2 swap and I am very happy with the swap.
The issue I have is I keep throwing CMP/CKP engine light code.
Background 4.2 V6 changed flywheel, balancer, CMP and CKP from 3.8
I did extend the wiring on those two sensors, everything checks out on continuity,
I have made a lot of changes, dual exhaust, cold air intake, new fuel injectors and fuel pump.
I have not had a tune and was wondering if the computer might be overwhelmed with all the changes???
I am posting this here in hopes of getting more hits.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks to everyone on this site it has always been great!!!

What year donor and what your is yours (94?).
You're using the stock ECM from your mustang with the 3.8L? Are the two sensors located in the same spot on the 4.2L as they were on your 3.8L
It would've been best to use the ECM from the 4.2L donor car. fuel map is different and the timing is most likely different as well depending on what year the donor is vs yours. If the sensors are actually located in different place (like the side on which the Crank sensor is located is on the opposite side of the crank) then you should definitely switch the ECM's out.

My mustang is a 2002 vert. the donor engine was a 2002 f150 90k miles. I did not have the ECM from the f150. I wish I had known that before doing the swap I definitely would have gotten that at the same time. Moving forward I tried to find out from ford if there was a way to determine what ecm would match my donor motor, not much help there. Any other suggestions for a work around. I felt the tune was helpful, however it seems like when I first start the car it has to relearn the idle settings. The tune shop felt the same way.I just threw a p1336 code for the first time since the tune. Thanks for replying to my post. I am sure this is beyond the standard help subject.

It's not beyond any help subject, it's just less common due to the swap.
My guess is that the 3.8L in a mustang and the 4.2L out of a F150 have slightly different signals they are expecting.
You should be able to get a PCM from any 2002 F150 with 4.2L engine and swap it in. Then have the tuner shop install a tune.

Great I can access a replacement PCM we have a large Pick a Part here.
I am pretty good with a wrench however could you explain what you mean by "signals" and what that is in reference to.
I am running a new motorcraft ignition coil and wires for a V6 2002 mustang with new plugs for a V6 f-150.
Thanks again for your input Derf00, this is all new information to me.
