Boss 302 vs GT: 2012 vs 2012 - requesting input
Hi guys,
Currently own and LOVE a 2012 GT (basically stock, axlebacks and AED tune, dynoing 375 RWHP on Dynojet). It has the premium and comfort packages. It feels like a luxury car: awesome stereo, bluetooth phone system, heated seats, etc.
HOWEVER, there is a same-year (2012) Kona Blue Boss 302 for sale just down the road: 45K miles, 27800. Test drove it. Ride was a little stiffer, of course, but MAN did that stick to the corners, it was insane. Also LOVE that 7500 RPM Roadrunner.
My question is, I am currently looking at a Ford Performance Handling Pack https://www.americanmuscle.com/frpp-...assembled.html and a Boss 302R manifold to get extra ponies and better handling. Will my beloved GT be COMPARABLE to the Boss with those upgrades? I know the Boss has NUMEROUS other upgrades (drivetrain, valves, cam, suspension comps, etc) - I just want it to be similar. Not going to Drag Race, at all, ever. May do some track days, and LOVE carving mountain backroads on the weekends.
Thanks guys --- any other suggestions or bases I didn't cover?

You could upgrade the performance and handling of your GT to closely match a Boss 302 but it won't have the same resale value. If you're planning on long-term ownership, the Boss 302 is a future collectible so grab it while you can.

It would be DD'ed. I'd love to have a weekend-only track / backroads cruising car, and separate DD car, but financially, it has to meet the roles of both a toy and a DD.

Persuade the wife or GF to buy you the Boss and keep both.
Proeagles does make a good point though about the Boss 302 not becoming a collectible if it accumulates a high mileage. It would need to remain lowish mileage and original.

I don't have the funds to buy a "toy" car to keep for value. Just won't work for me right now. I WISH I did!
Also, I have found that I really like the shaker stereo, SYNC system (when/if it works), and the comfy, heated leather seats.
I think option 2 ----- Boss Mani, LTH, catback, tune and FRPP Suspension Kit --- might be a better option for me.
