When I had a knocking in my 2V engine, I thought that it was the right side timing chain tensioner, so I took the stock one out and changed it with a Cloyes tensioner. After that didn't fix it, I bought one new from Ford and it didn't fix it either, but I did confirm that both were pumping up and doing their job. A bad lifter turned out to be the source of the knocking.

They have been compressed/locked for install. The cloyes has less than 50 miles on it and the Ford one has around 3,000 miles on it. The brighter one in the Cloyes and the darker one is the Ford.
