gettin stationed in AZ

as the title says, i finally found out where im gonna get stationed at. I graduated basic training back on Jan. 8 and graduate from tech school on Mar. 8. I am getting stationed at Davis-Monthan, AFB in Tucson, AZ. Is anyone stationed here or have been stationed here and could tell me how the base is? Could someone tell me what the weather is like and how the emission laws are and how strict they are and hows life in Tucson

I live near Phoenix. Emissions goes by zones, so you will probably have the same emissions test as me. It goes by the population of the area. They will hook up to your OBDII port. As long as your tune had the rear o2 sensors still on you should not have a problem passing emissions. The law is written that they will have diagrams to tell if your exhaust is other than stock but i have never heard of them actually checking that. As long as all of your original emissions equipment is working (or you replace the cats and don't run a OR pipe) and your check engine light turns on when you put the key in and turns off when the engine is running you should be fine. If you fail you are given a grace period to get it fixed and are not charged for the next test again.

Weather wise, winter will range typically low around 40, high around 65. Summer, lows in the 80's and highs up to 115 or more. Not humid though. Make sure your A/C is working. Supposedly AZ gets 300 days of sunlight a year. That is probably true. When it dose rain stay out of the throttle. The heat drives oils out of the asphalt and when it rains the oil floats up on top of the water making it slick as hell. It rained a few days ago and my wife saw a stang who was being an a** peal out at a light and put his ride into a tree (totaled it).

Tucson is pretty nice. Ive lived here for almost 3 years. D-M AF base is pretty nice and centrally located in the city. As for weather well... its hot usually haha. about 10 days a year of rain. Summers are about 110 degrees and winters get down to the 40s.

Emissions are pretty laid back. Most cars dont need testing.
