Hey I know this is off the speed density topic but some of you guys are running explorer heads and I have a question that no one can seem to answer.I plan on running the normal gt40 heads(95-97.5) I have heard that these explorer heads will result in a loss of compression?? and because of this they need to be milled. Does anyone know if this is true? and if they do need to be milled does anyone know what they would have to be milled too,to get 9:5:1 compression

yes that is true, if you dont touch them you will be around 8.8-1 comp

as for how much i dont remember right now

I have a 87 5.0 xxx block w/a 650 edelbrock carb t5 trans and 4.10 gears .....any cam suggestions????????

sugestions on what ?you have a wide open range of possiblities with a carburated engine , just depends on what you want to spend, what does it have doen to it now besides the 650cfm carb?
