Default car isn't running right

Car has 130k on clock but cuase of 3.73s little less

Car was recently Tuned up... cap rotor plugs wires. new wires were gay so i re-used old one which are Ford 9mms

Car also had Exhaust done recently, Longtubes, b/c of the exhaust my 02s did not stretch to the holes, so i ordered new ones and drove the car for a week with out 02s.

this problem started after about 6 days of driving with no 02s

somtimes the car is jsut dead, no power nothing... 2nd gear should be a fun gear but it just doesn't pull like it should. third gear is even worse... i know its not me getting used to it cause somtimes the car runs 100% most of hte time not...

its almost like im leaning out and not getting any fuel

also somtimes the car will buck a little and ill hear popping noise from the exhaust... like a cork being popped off a bottle.

somone suggested to me to get an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator and bump the pressure up to 40 and go from there...he said that hte stock one is probably worn out and thats why its doing this... but i have brought this car to the mechanic to have him check the fuel psi, told him to drive it and ave hte guage in the car and he said hte psi was fine, i forgot to ask him what psi its running at, never know how familiar he is with SD cars

my friends suggestions, get new wires, adjustable FPR and a 160 degree t-stat

any speed density guys wanna jump in?

when you changed your cap and stuff are you sure that you have the fireing order right ? it sounds like the same thing i did to mine i ran it at a normal 302 fireing order it ran like crap ,the 302 ho has a different order than a flat 302 , check there first sometimes the simple stuff is the root .

yeah it should , i know when i had mine wired wrong i had 5 and 7 switched , but your sounds like the same thing mine did , a light poping sound at idle and was doggy sometime's i would really recheck the fireing order , the o2's out should just make it run rich .if anyone else has any ideas jump in , i am just going off of personal exp. as the 302 ho and the flat 302 have different fireing orders

it probily wouldn't hurt but after reading your first thread again i deffinately think it is the egr , i have had them go bad on other cars and that was the same symptoms (loss of power the surging and the poping sound )the egr it self is useally around 50+ dollars idk on the price of the eliminator kit tho.
