Default 750 carb suggestions...

I was looking for a 750 carb, does anyone have any recommendations, I was looking to make at least 400whp, what kind of carb (brand) will offer good performance for what i am looking for with a less than a 500 dollar budget?

If its a n/a 302 a 650 would do plenty fine.

Default ihave a 750

i have a 750 on my 351
ita a 750 double pumper from holley and it kicks ***.
i believe its the 4150 series somone correct me if im wronge i dont have the paper in front of me, but its not that hard to tune, and it rips. get the manual choke. i like it manual choke takes time trying to figure out were it likes to start up at but once you got it just makr it with a sharpie or somthing. other then that ive only had one problem with it but it was my fualt. when i first started the engine up i let the pump suck the tank try thus creating a massive amount of vacuum in the tank when i oped the gas tank up it equalized but shot the secondary needle hard into the seat jaming it and leaft it wide open so haha flooded my engine =/ wont let that happen again. but its a great carb for the just the street or strip
message me if you have any other questions =D

oh i do run a litle rich but still trying to figure what it likes, no black smoke, happy were its at for now =O

For a 351 on the street a 750 is still tech still too big but on the strip its a nice carb if tuned right. A 650 will work perfectly fine on a mild/somewhat modded 351.

Quickfuel Q series 750 annular booster carb. That's what I'd get if I were you. It's expensive, but you really shouldn't sell yourself short on anything, let alone a carb. You will be surprised with the results.

or get a 650. Take your pick. I think a 750 will work just fine, but that's my opinion.

I would go with #1... and no, a 750 CFM DP Holley is not too big for a 351w or a slightly modified 302. LUK

I have a Quick Fuel mechanical 650 annular on my 302. I could have gone with their 750 annular and been fine, the 650 made so much signal out of the box I had to jet it WAY down. It's not just about carb size, it's about signal strength. A good modern carb will make MUCH more signal than older carbs could.

If you want a more street oriented carb with a choke(I prefer electric myself) then the Quick Fuel street series, the Q is a bit more performance oriented carb and has no choke.

I got my 650 from Summit for around $550.

And yes, the Holley 4150HP is a good carb and quite tunable. Carb's like Quick Fuel, ******, Pro Systems etc usually have more advanced tuning features though. All the Quick Fuels for instance come standard with screw in idle feed restrictors, power valve channel restrictors, and all the emulsion in the street carbs is pre tapped for emulsion restrictors(just drill the emulsion out and use restrictors if you want to mess with it), the rest come standard with screw in already in place.
