Default Am i asking too much??

Ok well i recently bought a 03 cobra and have decided to get rid of my 83 gt. Ive posted locally on CL and im wondering if i am asking too much/ or if i should wait it out and get my asking price. Its a 1983 mustang Gt 5sp, i listed the motor as stock, tho it has some sort of cam and engine work, i just dont know any of the parts used as it was like that when i bought.

-Motor i would describe as excellent running condition 70,000 miles/ has no ac
interrior is in good condition with only driver seat wear
-body is in fair condition, needing paint/ front quarter panel work where someone hit and run me while i was inside best buy, has new panel spray painted.
-trans and clutch are both newly rebuilt with less then 500 miles on both.
-tires are fair

I wont list how much i have it for sale for yet, ide really like to hear what you guys think that way i know for sure if im way off or pretty close.

I'd say $2500 asking would be fair. I like the interior, minus the drivers seat lol.

i just paid 1200 bucks to have a complete trans rebuild and clutch replace, barely drove it since then and found a 03 cobra i wanted so its been sitting for like a year in the back yard. I have it listed as 2500obo on CL locally but it seems everyone is trying to lowball me by alot. I figure most people buy older fox's for track use and will replace the drivers seat anyways... its also pretty dirty in the pics, the paint isnt horrible but whoever painted it didnt prep it right soe some parts behind the rear window are flaking off.... i just cant see letting it go for under $2000, its not in bad shape at all for a 83 and has no visible rust spots. just seems after about a month now im losing faith but im gonna hold out on it i think.

cars are money pits not investments, never expect to get any money you sink into a car back

I think it will sell for $2500.
Just leave it on there.
Maybe list it in other metro areas than yours....

I hardly expect to get back what i put into it... but im also not looking to give it away. 1200 bucks would be a joke for this car and i would litterally laugh at anyone who offered that to me.

The only visual flaws with your car is the fender and the drivers seat. Visually your car, as I stated, Is a $2500 car. If it runs as well as it looks then it'll sell.

Put a video of the engine running on your craigs list ad so people know the only thing wrong with it are those tiny visuals
