Default 1979 mustang Pace Car

I am looking at buying and "restoring" a 1979 Mustang Pace Car with the 5.0 and a 4spd. I know i will need a front bumper and dr. door. I am looking to redo the whole exhaust with performance. My problem is I can find headers and an off road H pipe but I cannot find an axle back kit for the 79. Will the other years fit? Also with the front bumper what other years/styles will fit on it? Are there any support for these cars any more? what is a good place to look for parts for the Pace Car? Especially the seats.

Any info will be appreciated

Thanks
Trent

I can't remember exactly but i believe those cars (even with the 5.0) came with the single exhaust, so the after market wouldn't show the axle backs as being a "plug and play". The obstacle of going from single to dual is with the brake lines on the passenger side of the axle and maybe even the cross-member. they're are some articles on google about what needs to be changed.

Trent,

Also check out a mom and pop custom exhaust shop in your area. They can probably hook you up with a decent price.

You need to change over to later model headers, or aftermarket, a double hump crossmember and the passenger side hangars.
