Welcome to the forum and congrats on your '83.
Just curious, is the car running/driving good now ? A carb swap may help performance a little bit, but deleting all the vacuum switches and emissions may actually hurt performance.
Are you looking for more HP with these mods because there's much better choices than an electric fuel pump and ignition.
Let us know your plans for the car .

davew, 88 orangepeel notch makes a good point about your intentions with this car. On our 1987 fox body we removed the OEM injected 302 and replaced it with a 331 " HOLLEY 650 CARBURETED stroker. I eliminated most of the vacuum, and unnecessary components. My point is, it can be done, but you do need a little bit of performance knowledge/experience to get it right. Also, if you are going to "dog" this rig, then I would suggest a electric fuel pump, around 140-190 gph and a fuel pressure regulator set at about 7 psi. Have fun.
