SHO hang with 99-04 GT?

Over at my other hangout, www.shoforum.com, I'm kinda in a fight with one of the mods. He says that a SHO, either auto or manual can hang with a 99-04 GT. In case you guys don't know much about SHOs, the manual ones with a good driver are good for low 15s, like 15.1-2. The autos-15.4-15.8.

What do auto and manual 99-04 GTs run in the 1/4 and how close of a race would it be.

I'm trying to tell it like it is to this guy and he just knows he's right. I said the only way it would be close is if in was a 5-speed moddes SHO vs a stock auto GT. Sound about right?

Yes, a Taurus. The one I'm talking about is the 1992-1995 body style. Yamaha engines- 3.2L auto, 3.0L manual. The 96-99 had a 3.4L Yamaha V8.

So low-mid 14s for auto and manual 99-04 GTs? Or is the auto slower?
