Street racing is just dumb, dumb, dumb!

 

Who out there has NEVER opened your car up on a wide open freeway late at night, I find it hard to believe that none of you model citizens has ever broken a traffic law... whether you were caught is a different story. If two guys/girls are racing in the middle of the night on an open freeway and one loses it and hits the wall oh well that's there fault for going faster than they could handle. And racing from a stop light to the next light up to around 50 or so is hardly a death penalty of course things happen but you could drive your whole life never breaking the speed limit and then bam a 85 year old who can't even see the stoplight drills you what then...? oh it wasn't my fault? C'mon I swear some of you talk bad about a little street racing like it's the end of the world and I think you do it just because on this forum its the "Cool" thing to say. The title of this forum is STREET/strip... NOT "STRIP". So if people wanna say they raced on the street you're not there f'in mother so shut up who cares. a lot of you are Hypocrites.

 

Im not saying that I have never did it, because I have. But only got up to about 100 and stopped! What I am saying is that running from COPS is STUPID and not smart at all. And people shouldnt brag about **** like that.

 

stop lite to stop lite is one thing, running away from the police at 160 mph is something else, it's f**king dumb! I don't give a damn if you are by yourself and run off the road and get killed, but endangering other innocent people is just stupid!

 

I would have to agree with vshays on this one. It is not smart to run from cops. I've done it a couple of times in my late teens thinkin' I was all hot shi* and everything. I look back and say to myself WTF was I thinking. Both times had one or more people in the car with me. Not only did I endanger my life, theirs also. Imagine this, you have an accident while you are doing something stupid and you kill someone, could be a friend, a family member, or a total stranger. I'll bet my bottom dollar that you would feel a pain that you have never felt before. You guys say that we are bitching at you. No, we are people, or know people who have had experiences that we have learned from and are trying to keep you fellow hotrodders from having those same experiences. Just think before you act.

 

Well my cars are somewhat unique in appearance and with the noise and crappy paint they stand out. I cant run because the cops all know my car's. Also I dont really run on the street, I havent opened it up past the speed limit inside city limits in quite a while. (not since it took my car 4 blocks to break the limit..lol) The faster my cars have gotten, the slower I drive them unless I am merging from an onramp, then I will plank it and pick my spot.

When I was doing my racing that wasnt at a track we would head out of town onto two lane blacktop roads between cornfields. There would be a car about half to 3/4 mile down and cars all behind us. Only two would go, nobody followed or did stupid stuff like that. Nebraska is full of arrow straight roads where the cops never are, and for the most part neither are other cars. 145mph for 25 miles is easy to do there, just watch out for tractors and old farmers pulling out ahead of you. Racing in a built up area is really stupid, cause you never know what dumbass will run the red light and smack your ride. One of my bro's in my unit just lost his 12 second LT1 96 TA to a dumbass who turned infront of him from the wrong lane at an intersection. It broke my heart to part that car and get all his stuff off it. (headers were a pain too!)

 

Shadow I dont remember seeing you doing anything but turning for home when I was next to ya.... The wife would whup your butt if you actually raced your car bro...

Whether its smart or not (street racing) im going to do it anyways, because the tracks arent open every night. Go bitch to somebody who cares.

And i dont run from the cops to be cool, i run to retain my license. If i get caught, oh well im ****ed, thats my problem. there were no other people on the road AT ALL, so as far as endangering anybody else, well my friend and i definitely werent.
