Default Chances with 94Gt vs. 95 Z28?

my car is 95 GT conv., automatic, with full catback and k and n CAI, the other kids car is a 95 Z28 LT1 which he says he bored over and has done full intake exhaust, then finished by saying he had a gorilla chip or something like that, that leads me to believe he is just all talk, and is running a stock z28 with a chip. in this case what are my chances? how much would the 4.10 gears help me out?

The Z28 should win this one. The LT1 is a good motor in it's on right but yours gears should get you some ground.

still pretty lousy man

a 99-04 GT is righ on par from a dig with a LT1...

youre still a bit behind either of them stockk

and if he really has done some big work, then you're probably gonna get it pretty hard

good luck nonetheless

Gee, i'm no expert on this, and I won't pretend to be but from a magazine racing stand point...

1995 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 5.7 14.2

1995 Ford Mustang GT 6.1 14.9

So with your 4.10s shift kit and timing adjusted I would say that this is a drivers race. (If he is stock)

Good luck to you.

He has this in the bag. Just look under his car, LT's and aftermarket Y-pipes normally hang down an inch or 2 on F-bods, if you see that, then hes not all talk and he will walk you pretty hard with just that. Stock, he still has you pretty well beat I think. A 95 AODE car will put down around 180whp if its in GREAT shape. His car A4 will put down around 230-240 and M6 245-265. You also weigh more than him by a hundred+ pounds. If you run 15's in that car I will be suprised (stock).

There have been many cases where manual LT1 Z28's have ran 13.9 . I used to own a 1995 Z28 auto w/ 2.73's with Lid and two chamber Flows and I had no problem walking 94-95 GT's. I don't think his gears and timing are gonna make up almost a full second.

Who knows, maybe the Z28 is running like crapp and your stang is running great and that could be all you need to edge him out...............Good Luck!!!!

Stockish (CAI and catback) '95 automatic GT convertible (heavy) vs a 275 hp LT1? Perhaps modded? I know I may be biased, but it doesn't look good for you.
