4.0 Stang

So today me and my dad lined up. He has a 2006 Hemicharger with exhaust and Programmer.I have a 2006 v6 Mustang with exhaust, Programer, and Cold Air Intake.

Soo we decided to line up and see what would happen. We take off and I get the whole shot on him, were pretty much neck to neck until about 45-50 mph, when the Charger begins to pull on me, I let off at about 80 mph where he was about 2 1/2 - 3cars in front of me. I was suprised how we were neck to neck untill about 45-50 mph even though there was 2 people in the charger and just me in the mustang. We ended up doing it again and it was pretty much the same thing.

Are you sure he has a HEMI????????????? V6 mustangs are a joke? Did your dad press the gas, or was he rolling in "N"???

I raced one v6 mustang, last year, my friend just bought it and wanted to see what it could do...I wont talk about it..lol

Why didnt you video this...because I love to see comedy.

I beat GT mustangs...if your dad lost to a V6 then he needs to give the car to someone else...not trying to diss your dad...I am just saying there should be alot more than that..but hey some chargers are slow as shhhiaaat.

Only way a v6 mustang is going to beat me is if he is under 5 sec 0-60...

justin, one of our 4.0 section moderators has an almost stock new V6 5-speed coupe, and hes in the mid 14s...i believe that he has gears, tuner, exhaust...no FI and no real engine mods...and hes almost running as fast as the average charger rt.

The new v6's are not joke when modified. On the stock motor you can put them down into the mid 12s with boost. NA they are a slouch for 4.0L, but with basic mods and good tires they can creep up on high high 13s.

My 1997 v6 vert WAS a joke though...

Are you Auto or 5 speed? If your rowing then I can see it happening..

a poorly launched hemi charger very well could be beaten by a well driven manual 4.0...it would be a rough race for the mustang, but its not impossible

I have a Automatic, but since his car is soo heavy thats why we were neck to neck off the line, but once we hit 40 or 50, whatever it was he started pullin on me, I was just suprised i kept up with him for a little bit.

the 4.0L v6 may not be as powerful as the gt, but it isn't a slouch. the fastest n/a in the 4.0 section isat 14.0 - 14.1... that'saround previous generationgt numbers. it's the smaller motor but it has potential. the earlier sixers were a joke. not this generation. heck even 98 gt was a joke.

Im sorry guys, but I beat 5.7 gtos, cobraz, not the more recent ones...but the ones EVERYBODY has.

trans-ams...many GTs...tuned S2000...i dont see a v6 keeping up with me...

Boost yes thats a different story, boosted nissan Z are fast, and alot of other cars on boost. But hey if they want boost, there is always a option for me to get boost too.

Sleeper05...that is one ****in slick mustang...nice setup...I would have done something similar but chargers dont look good with a stripe.
