Cobalt SS Stages? Sorry :-p
I know the Cobalt SS crap has been beaten to death, but I was at the short bit of cruise in I got to today and ran into a car that I've seen around town.
Knew the guy..
He's claiming that he has teh GM Stage 3 mods for the Cobalt SS,
he paid 1200? is that right???
And he's also claiming that he isnt dyno'd, not tuned or anything..
1. is that price rigth? 1200?
2. woudnlt those mods require a tune/dyno?
3. what would a stage 3 do on/off DR's

RE: Cobalt SS Stages? Sorry :-p
The stage 3 kit is rated at 260 HP. It has 76 MM pulley, better intercooleran adjustable rev limiter & 50 shot nitrous tune on the PCM. They can be had for less than $1200. They should be good for mid 13's on street tires and maybe low 13's with stickys! I know a dude that ran a 12.8 at 110 with a 75 shot and all the goodies.

Is the Stage 3 kit an option from the factory?

yeah... stage 2 is good for 240 WHP
stage 3 at 260WHP sounds about right, weighing under 3,000lbs is a plus too, they can be pretty fast once they are up and cruising.... from a dig I don't see them doing so hot though

Stage 1 Cobalt SS/SC would probably run low 14's at about 215-220whp, the stage 2 would probably run between 13.7-13.9 with about 240whp, and the stage 3's would probably run 13.3-13.5 with about 260-270whp. They are pretty decent once you start upping the stages of the S/C along with basic bolt ons. Their engines are pretty bullet proof, just the rods I believe are the only weaklink, but aftermarket rods, turbo, 20psi, DR's, 11's are too be followed.

I didn't realize how much powerthe Stage 2 and 3's made. I really wouldn't mind having one especially if a Stage 3 upgrade can be had for around a grand.

RSX-S, new Civic Si, or a Scion TC. I rather have the RSX-S, but who knows what she wants.
Sorry for the minor hi-jack.

The Wife and I are about 90% sure were gonna get rid of the 01 GT we have and she wants a sport compact car with alittle power. I'm trying to convince her about the Cobalt SS/SC, but she thinks its ugly and doesnt want one. So right now its gonna either be an
