87 5.0 vs 2005 ram hemi
i've got a stock 87 5spdfox and my co-worker has a stock05 ram ext.cab with a hemi. he want's to race me for 100 bucks. I did a little research on quater mile times and looks like i'll get'em by a little. What do you guys think? I'm new here and love my near mint 87 fox.

this is good for i don't want to lose 100 bucks. I just want to shut him up, he thinks his ram is the fastest thing around. I've never pushed her that hard, 1st until 25mph and 2nd until 70mph. wow. this 5.0 has been babyed it's whole life, i guess it's time to blow some carbon out the exhaust.

she's completly stock except the flows i just put on her. 130,000 miles. the tires are 225 55 16(pony's) but need to be replaced soon. I'm going to put 245 50 16 on her, that should be a better ride right. I'm new here and love the fox mustang.

theres a couple free mods you could do for abit more power, what brand tires though? POS or good? BTW mine has 129,991 miles right now
go to an empty street and practice launching with little tire spin, 2k is a good starting point

oh and its 35mph in first gear [8D]

bf goodrich on it now, but need new ones. what to you recommend as an upgrade size, brand? what do you mean by POS or good? you have to forgive me I'm new here. And yes i need to practice my launch. at which point do i floor it in first gear? she always breaks loose and goes sideways. I've let the clutch out smooth and then when ever i punch it, it gets crazy. how do i launch good and still beat the Ram? I appreciate all your info.

BFGs are good, nice and soft enough, KDWs? or G-forces? what I mean by Piece-Of-**** or good, is the softness of the tire, if you're rocking the pony rims a 245/50/16 tire is fine

NEVER floor it in first, you break loose the tires EVERYTIME, modulate the accelarator while letting go of the clutch, say you launch at 2k, dont let it fall below 2k, once its fully engaged give it gas until you're at the tires breaking point, which depends on street conditions and tire conditions, practice, practice, practice. Once you shift into second @ 35mph you can floor it and dont look back
