This kid I use to go to school with came into my work. As soon as he seen me he's like, wanna race?? He told me he went to the track and ran a 9 seconds. I called BS and told him to stfu lol. he said the guy next to him ran a 9 and he ran a 10.5. I still called BS. he is 19 and has a 3000 GT and said the dude next to him had the same car. he began telling me about how his car is all suped up and everything. But he still has stock suspension and an "old" turbo. I continued calling BS and he is like, ok lets ****in race pinks then!!

i told him after christmas Ill race him for pinks.

What do you think those 3000 Gt's are capable of?

btw, i will be modding like crazy over the winter :)

You mean 9's in the 8th right? If so, ok, not much to brag about sounds close to stock. Looking at your sig he probably will beat your '94....

no i mean the quarter mile. And i know he can beat me now but not after christmas.

He is literally saying he can run 10.5 in the 1/4. He works at a car dealership but he cant be any more educated then me lol. Im sure if I just get nos I could walk him.

my 1st sport car was a NON- TURBO 222hp 3000GT. there three motors for the 3kgt a SOHC 16v v6=160hp, DOHC 24V V6=222HP, Twin turbo DOHC 24V V6=320HP

The twin turbo 300gt is a "VR-4" model.

It as AWD & come stock w/ 320hp, 315 ft tq

one proble they do have is there weight: 3800pds for a vr-4(twin turbo 3kgt)

there suppose to run mid 13's if not low 13's in the 1/4. Some basic bolt on, intake/tune/boost cont should send them into the 12's.


so w/ out a question, ur going to need a power adder, like super charger.

O, runing 9's in the 1/4 will take a TON of money, and prob a couple of blown things here and there. But it has been done:

above link is a very popular site to buy parts for the 3kgt, they have a 9 sec 3kgt that u can look at. but i higly doubt ur friend has one, i mean it would have to trapt atleast 150mph, so u think ur friend could handle a car that takes 9 sec to get to 150(more like 160)? most people dont even think how fast a 10/9 sec car really is ( u can thank F@cking fast and the idiots for that one)

but either way; if thats a vr-4, you better be able to dump some money into ur car if you wana beat him.

I just have to call this from how I see it from here.

A. This race will never happen
B. If it does and he has a VR4, he will walk you
C. He does not run 9s in the 1/4 or 10.5s


P.S. It is NOT NOS. It is called nitrous and that just lowered your credibility in my eyes. Not trying to be a jerk, just trying to call it as I see it.

i know a guy with a 760awhp 3000gt vr4. he has over 30k invested into it not including the cost of the car.

chances are (99% chance) he is bs'ing u. most "quick" vr4's are in the 12s. they are quite heavy.

If it is very "suped up" then 10.5 is possible. Not with the stock turbo though.

Yea those VR-4s are awesome. I played with one on the highway once and they are very fast. I think they are just a hair slower than the LS1. mid 13s stock. Not 100% sure though.

If it is not a VR4 you dont have much to worry about. The base & RS models were 16 second cars. But theye didnt have a turbo so he is probly a VR-4.

So he is probly running a respectible time. Maybe not 10s, but it is possible. Still he could have played around with his boost & dont some other things and be running 12s pretty easily. Usally when your racing for pinks they arnt 100% honest about their mods. I wouldnt race him for pinks. Even if he isent running 10s, he is probly running pretty good.
