Default S197 GT Vs Mercedes S550

My Friend Has an s550 on 22's and challenged me to a race against my Mustang. My mustang is needs to be dropped and has 20's. He has 7 speeds 382 hp 391 tq but a lot of weight. Were going on a street that no car passes by no body around so its safe . were doin a 0-80 and a first gear roll. We also might go on the freeway for a 80-110 run. Were gnna put a Lil wager on it to make it more intresting.

Hmmmmm... you should get him, I don't know the 0-60 times for one of those but 22" rims are going to slow him way down, and it's massively heavy.
BTW since you have an auto take off the overdrive.
Someone else will know better than me, but an S550 shouldn't be a problem, now an S55 AMG on the other hand would.

Should be an easy win.

80-110mph run? Wouldn't that be over in like 6-8 seconds? Why not try something like 40-110?

The S550 has a 0-60 in slightly over 5 seconds, 7 Speed Auto, and 391 lbs. of Torque at 2800 RPM which means good acceleration very quickly.
Sure it weighs just shy of 5000 lbs..
Should be an interesting race.

Thats right And GT Stang, in the rare instance you lose, just remind him you paid 1/3 the money for your car....Actually tell him that if you win too.

I think you did your division backwards.

Drivers Race. Those S550's are no joke. They are 0-60 in about 5.5, and get peak TQ. at 2800 RPM. They are rated for about 382 HP and 391 TQ, and weigh about 4200 LBS. You will have your work cut out for you. Your 20's are not helping either, plus, your automatic. If you did a 2K launch, you should win. I have no problem taking these cars though.

305 / 3150 = 0.0953
382 / 4200 = 0.0909

Meh, I think your right. Either way, the S197 came out better by a decent amount.
