got spanked... saw it coming... Now qustion is... will. CAI/TUNE o/r H and 4.10s fix this? I had him everytime until 3rd gear.. *his is auto btw* and then he just could not be caught..

I think because he is an auto a CAI/tune/OR pipe and 4.10s will probably be able to take him. If he had the 6sp I don't think you would stand a chance without FI. It will still be close though even if you get those mods. Just hope that he doesn't do the same.

yeah 3rd gear is when the LS1's horsepower advantage really shows.
I've had 2 LS1s now and I don't miss them a bit, despite being great motors. It's the body that wraps them that is total crap.
you should be able to hang with a stock LS1 for a few hundred bucks though from what I've seen on here.

Well I have everything but 4.10's and my cars best is 13.2 @ 106. Maybe some drag tires and I would be able to get into the 12's. I always thought the SS trapped higher around 108. I could be wrong though

If you two are that close until third, cai and a tune should more than even it up. More so due to the tune. With gears, you should definetly be able to handle him. Unless the 4.10s give you traction trouble, in which case you'd be worse off than before. Sounds like a good race though.

In good air a Z28 M6 traps around 107-109 mph.
A SS M6 traps 108-110
A Z28 A4 traps around 105-107 mph.
A SS A4 should trap 106-108 mph.
A stock GT will trap 103 mph (would be 104 mph if not for fuel cut)
A CAI + Tune will have you trapping around 107 mph in good air (DA of 0' ASL or Less)
That assumes you are under 200 lb and dont have a bunch of extra weight in the car.
Cars have run 12.8's on factory tires with just those mods.
I have not seen a factory SS Auto go faster than 12.9. The M6's are about 0.2 Quicker.
