Default 98GT vs. newer Stealth RT Turbo

I was getting ready to turn down my street when a newer looking, probably 95 or 96 Stealth RT Turbo went by me and reved at me. I figured what the hell... so i got out of the turning lane to follow the guy. there happened to be some slow a$$ Celica that didnt wanna get out of my way. after i passed him i finally caught up to the stealth. we ended up turning down a side road, he took off, i proceeded after him. finally about a mile down the road he got in the oncoming lane next to me and just looked over. we were idling around 40 or so. my exhaust was pretty loud, so when i went to get right up next to him as opposed to half a car behind him, he took off, i stayed about half a car behind him about to about 65, around 80 he had about 3/4 of a car on me, and around 95 we shut down and he had about 1 car to 1 1/4 cars on me. i know i lost but i dont think that's too bad considering he has a turbo... does anyone know what those run bone stock? by the way, i know he at least had an exhaust... dont know much more though. just thought id share.

Great race, I think they run low 14's stock, not completely sure on that.

Good run, those gears should help out when you put them in. Mine are sitting in my room waiting to be installed. 2.73s to 3.73s is going to be nuts![sm=burnout.gif]

people forget rt stealths were AWD so there 1/4time is irrelevant. They came with (depending on the year) up to 340hp. Today at the track my buddy with just exhaust, clutch, cf drive shaft and boost controller ran a 13.3 @103. So they can get up and go. They also have a really tall 3rd gear that tops out stock at 120+mph. So figure your gear change in there when he doesn't have and he can get another car on you. Nice run though.

rt stealths are NOT AWD. the rt tt stealth are AWD. not trying to be a *****, but just pointing that out. some people think all rt's are AWD. i thought the fastest bone stock stealth was 320HP, which was the 95/96? 1/4 mile are mid to low 13s. my friend's 91 had 300 stock. those care are so much fun to ride in. i'd like one as a winter car. you can get them fairly cheap and AWD/AWS should be nice in the snow. and yes, i'd rather have an sti, but you can get a stealth rt tt or 3000gt vr4 a lot cheaper than an sti.

nice run on that stealth. i'm surprised you stuck with him like that. he must have been bone stock too.

NANAKI is right. 320 was max hp in 96. not 340. And I ran a 12.8 w/ lighter pulley, boost controller, iridium plugs, and an intake in 90 degree weather.
He could have been just an r/t to only win by 1 1/2 cars.
Ya never know.

i seriously thought all r/t's were awd. AFAIK, the SL and the base model were FWD. damn, i got the cars confused...

why is that gay? I fail to see your point?

A run is a run... AWD drive helps a ton, but after the first 60ft., there's still another 1260 to go. And with the AWD drive train loss...[:@]
