1st Bracket race in the Musang = FUBAR
First points race at Atco. First time shot cut .078 light and run 14.02x. I added 2lbs of air to the rear tires and footbraked 250 rpms higher. Weather got a little worse. Cut a .028 light and ran dead on the predition of 14.04x. Ok we're raceable. First round of eliminations I dialed a 14.04 and cut a very red -.050. DEAD first round. Not only that but I miss dialed the car. I went a 14.07 flat out on a 14.04 dial. Gotta pay more attention of what i'm doing. I was soooo ticked off I failed to say good by to anyone. I couldn't understand why I went sooo red. I felt like I hit my spot on tree. ??????????? Replaying the run back on my 2 hour drive back home I remembered that I relaxed just before my spot and I believe the car started to creep forward. Seems like 1750 is the upper rmp limit that the car can be held and requires a bit of grunt on the brakes. FUBAR. FUBAR. FUBAR. Next week I'm droping back down to a 1500 RMP launch and adding 3 more pounds of air to the back tires. Burtal learnig curve.

14.07 on a 14.04 dial isn't bad for first time bracket racing. And in the slower brackets like that you may find the field isn't too terribly tight. Just recently at the March Meets, the guys running in the 12.60 dial Hotrod were running anything from 12.50-14.50.

lol I took it as being funny. A lot of S197 cars do run that fast. Guy I work with ran a 13.20 with a stockauto vert. Granted it was great air, slight tailwind, and at a notedfast track (2% downhill run). I do bracket race and set the car up to be dial-able. I'm not driving for my best ET. I deep stage which makes the ET a tenth slower. I don't feather the gas either. Just bam straight down. Not the best for 60' times but I do get very consistant 60' times. Bracket racing requires you doing the same exact thing every time. I can't feather the gas the same way every single run. I guess I could post since my buddy's vert ran a 13.20 (he has the time slip)and my coupe is 100lbs lighter and 1 weigh 100lbs less than him,and I have 2stickers worth 5hp each, my car should run 12.99. See I found the humor.

13.20 stock auto verts? .... Anyone with an Auto Vert want to trade for a Manual Coupe?
Considering he runs the car hot enough to run the electric fan Im suprised it runs 14.0 deep staged.....
PS all you need is a consistant 0.011 pkg.... (Ducking and running for cover... LOL!).
